Christmas was in full swing earlier tonight at Club Rapture with DJ Shepherd and host Rocket Jefferson on hand to keep the peeps entertained. Lots of old familiar faces were on hand including INV’s very own MTD1952 Timeless! As always, he was looking very cute and dressed to impressed. There was a huge 2000 linden contest for the best looking Christmas outfit, which was won by Griffin Ceawlin.
Contest Winner: Griffin CeawlinShep was pumping the best tunes and even threw in a few festive favorites for everybody. Club Rapture is certainly making its mark in SL and it’s always a welcoming feel good atmosphere at the club. It was borne out of Aeschylus Shepherd’s Club Rapture Magazine. The club’s décor is funky yet easy on the eye and doesn’t over do it on the flashing lights as some clubs are prone to doing so.

Carl Wilder wonders why people post anonymously about Eddi. I remember a few jumping to eddi's defence the last time about this. The simple fact is that people are afraid of reprisals against them for speaking the truth. Its the same reason as to why anonymous leaks are done in the rl media for fear of reprisal. Wow, Im away a few days and all hell breaks loose in here. Okay, I wrote the article to cover the Christmas Party. The article was positive about the party and Club Rapture. I've received an offline from Shep (owner of Club Rapture) asking me to remove the post. Firstly, this is Ammon's blog and not my call to make. Secondly, I would advise against that as the article was positive. I know some of the comments have been heated here, but I believe in free speech and as you can clearly see, comments from all quarters have been made. There's been no censorship. So I don't see the need to remove the article although I suspect Eddi Haskell has probably asked or pressured him to do so. Eddi has been paying for parties at Shep's Club Rapture so I guess there is a financial incentive to keep Eddi sweet from Shep' perspective, but in true journalistic fashion, INV's free speech should not be hindered or censored in this fashion on the basis of what Eddi Haskell wanting to control what is and isnt said about him.
Speaking of the man himself, Eddi Haskell. Clearly, judging from many of the comments expressed here, the mere mention of his name attracts scorn. I haven't gone on the record too much about Eddi Haskell, but I now feel it's appropriate that I do. I bought Eddi's old club (formerly known as Jakes club) as Nasturtium Island with my partner in August from him. We paid Eddi Haskell 50,000 lindens for it. In all the time we owned the club, Eddi Haskell would be in our face creating a nuisance of himself. My partner hated him, eddi driven him nuts. When Eddi wanted attention, oh boy did he demand it.
In September, Eddi revealed to me that he was trying to hurt JakeC Hotshot's new club and wanted to "bring him down." He told me he was paying a number of people to help him do just that. This included paying his close friends to create alts and spy at Jake's club. I note that the people Eddi targeted to help him were people who are of financial limited means and he exploited that fact. I was shocked to learn that Eddi was paying one of my close ex partners to do this very deed (setup an alt and spy on Jake at his new club). I was disgusted that my ex partner was doing this and he would never have acted like that in the past, but Eddi exploited him and still does to this very day.
Eddi revealed to me that he had been trying to bring Jake down since the day he split. I recall one day, that I expressed my disgust at Eddi's behaviour. WOW, he totally flipped at me. He went all Jack Nicholson in the Shining on me. He was raged, IMmming me line after line in fury and well I think it bordered psychotic behaviour in how he reacted.
Eddi seemed to spiral out of control further and further. He told me he had Luca and Natalie's RL details, names, phone numbers, places where they work and even showed them to me. Funnily enough, when Ammon refused Eddi's DEMAND to cut ties with me and cease being my buddy, Eddi went straight to Luca and Natalie and setup some "responsible journalists" mock of a group. Yes the very guys he told me day after day he hated so much and wanted to bring them down to.
I feel bad for Shep who associates with Eddi. The number of times Eddi claimed he hated Sheps "arrogant attitude" as he put it and ridiculed him behind his back. Shep was supposed to be his friend. Yes, that's the real Eddi Haskell and I am not posting this anonymously, I am content to let this out in the open. Although, this issue about people posting anonymously, I can understand why people feel they have to. Some of these people know what eddi is capable of and I think Eddi would probably be surprized by some of the people who submit these comments. Very surprized indeed. Anyway that's my take on Eddi Haskell on the record.
Haskells a big alt user. His latest one is Ryce Skytower and dances sometimes as Club Ranch. I heard he has so many he cant count them all on both hands.
People call him sheddi now. Many people don't like the ethics sheddie plays in sl. As being a previous bar owner sheddie caused lots of tension between Dj's.

Ed is funding club Rapture because Shep is broke apparently.
I have to chime in here and add a bit of my own commentary, in support of Jason's expressed viewpoint(s). InVogue is about journalistic endeavor, to me. A chance to exercise my brain, document some cool stuff in SL, or just scribble some ribald commentary for the amusement (hopefully) of the folks I love hangin' with in the club scene, and at Boots Beach and other places.
Jason's right... the original article he posted was very positive, and I attended this same party and found it fun and enjoyable. I even commented to Eddi that it was good to see him, as I put it, "back among the living".
The other night, I was contacted by Shep asking that I get the article and comments removed. I told him I'd look into it, speak to Ammon, and speak to Jason, since the article was Jason's work.
Now, I'm not a dummy, but I choose to remain rather uninformed about who is "doing" who, who is really who in "real life", who is in business to screw others out of their profits, who used to be married to whom... all that stuff is available all day, every day, on television. Here in the States we call it "soap opera". Who needs this crap in Second Life?
I've never been victimized by Shep or Eddi Haskell, nor by anyone, really, except perhaps one of my ex-husbands (I'm still with #3 in a little over a year, hope that's not a bad record, hee hee!). And notice I didn't say his name. I don't, as a rule, trash people in print, or raise a lot of negativity without presenting the opposing view, fairly, I hope. When challenged to do a better of job of this, I respond by attempting to do just that.
Guys, I like dancing and clubbing. I absolutely love being a club dancer/host, and greeting the many of you whom I know in passing, or have spent time with in conversation or sharing of our views, and sometimes even our real-life health and other issues.
I'm sorry, (to Shep), that the coverage of the Christmas Party garnered such negative response, but I'm also pretty convinced, at this point, that free speech does rule here at InvDaily, and that all the numerous comments in the negative about Eddi and you, Shep, must have some basis in fact, or there'd just not be so very, very many of them.
This is all that I have by which to judge, and I try not to judge. I would patronize Rapture just as I patronize just about all the various clubs in SL that make me feel welcomed, valued, or at least acknowledged as a fun customer.
I don't hate anyone over SL stuff, but I'm not dumb... I pay attention and remain wary when someone has a bad "rep" in here, esp. if I think they've violated confidences or crossed into peoples' real lives. Mine's an open book, and I'll tell anyone my name, address, phone number... I've nothing to be afraid of. In fact, one SL friend who was in need, homeless in the cold northern midwest, is now staying, free of charge, in my spare bedroom, with no strings attached... that's how gay brothers should treat one another, IMHO.
Some of us choose to be open about our health issues... I think everyone knows I'm HIV POZ and will make myself available to anyone with those issues who needs an "ear" with a heart attached. But revealing someone else's diagnosis, and violating their confidence of such information... that's bloody inexcusable and hateful. Aiddyn's always been very sweet to me, and if he has health issues or needs support I'm firmly beside him... as we ALL should be for one another. There are enough people who hate us just for being gay, why would we hate on each other?
So, any road, please rest assured that I will continue to contribute positive, interesting, or funny stuff to InVogue, and I will continue to just avoid the trash heaps and personality clashes... principles before personalities is but one of the traditions by which I struggle to live.
And please, don't blame all who contribute to InVogue for the opinions expressed in comments... the comments entries are the right place to express one's opinion about the InVogue content and if the postings are scathing and numerous as in this case, I think that's pretty solid evidence of some basis in fact. Ya makes your bed, and then ya have to lie in it. Some beds, apparently, really, really stink.

Is Eddi funding Rapture? There was a huge pic of him there. Many people know that Shep has cruel intentions for the mighty linden. He'll do women or men just to get a linden. Ask Syri who helped get him in. Nothing against Syri I love her and she is great dj. But she was used by him. Shep knows what he did to get his foot in the door and never a thank you to her. Who's the girl you sleeping with now?

I did contact Dj Shep tonight and he also agrees the post was very well written. My goodness it even called Eddi sexy (I almost fell of the rocking chair and I wasn't drunk). Well we won't remove the post because he switched his story to it being a private gala. Well a private gala you don't use many people's groups to fill the room, do you? Well at least in Palm Beach there is such a thing called R.S.V.P or an invite. I also contacted 4 other people in the room earlier tonight and it wasn't a private party. I need to run and open my package wink wink from my rl 22 year old.

In regards to Shep. He contacted me tonight asking for this article to be removed. He told me that his party was one that Eddi wanted and was entirely "PRIVATE." He also added that he promoted it for fun but can see why that ws a mistake.
I offered to add a statement from Shep to the article for him, but he declined saying that it would add fuel to the fire (I'm assuming he didn't want to face Eddi's backlash).
Then I got about 15 minutes worth of earrache from him saying that there should be no negative comments about him on the blog or in comments or he will not be associated with INV. I told him that I do not have control over the comments.
I'm sure President Bush would love no negative comments about him, but we still have a free press. I've had negative comments said about me, Ammon has so have many others but we can't go aound dictating who can and can't say what. We also can't be liked by everybody, it'd be a pretty boring world if we all were!
Shep has subsequently ejected me from his club rapture group because I wouldnt submit to his demands. Shep, I tried to help you by giving you an opportunity for your say in the article. I'm sorry that you have a problem with the fact that I don't agree in censoring people.

Sometimes when a guy is new to SL he has behavior that he would not have in RL. I know when I was new I sure did. I lost a good friendship because of this. But I learned, and I hope my behavior has shown improvment. And while I am sad to read the comments about Eddi, cuz he was a friend of mine at one time, I wish I could see his behavior change, instead of his avatar. I wish he could be the Eddi that I first met a long time ago. I wish you could have all known that Eddi Haskell.
Thomm makes a lot of sense. Eddi never used to be this bad. Eddi has always been different but there's not a problem with that, we can all be different in many ways. The thing that people take issue with is his maniacal side, which involves targeting people with vengeance and as one comment says just there: "He chases or trys to chase people away by making them believe he is more than he is." Can people change? Yes they can. Will Eddi change? I'd like to think so but I dont see it happening until he recognizes what he does to people is wrong and he has shown no sign of that so far. People who have problems like drug use, alcoholism or anger management never recover unless they admit to themselves first that they have a problem and then begin to address it. This is the season of goodwill. Im sure many would find it in their heart to forgive and maybe even try and help him if he decided to face his problems and tried to change his behaviour. First thing he needs to do is "calm down" in everything he does and stop going overboard all the time.

The comments about Eddi Haskell and his dealings in Second Life, however, are indeed numerous, scathing, and involve many, many people of very diverse "persona" in Second Life, and therefore do, to me, contain a ring of truth.
Just the fact that a single published club review containing a reference to Eddi Haskell, months after the "High Energy Meltdown" and the infamous break up of Jake and Eddi, would elicit such a shit-storm, I think lends credibility to some of the shit therein contained.
My "peers"... other club-going, Second Life participants who are just out for a good time, have spoken in large numbers about their perceptions, and I would be, I think, a bigger fool to ignore such circumstantial evidence.
Does this mean I'm a "sheep", going with the crowd?
No, because I still bear an open mind toward both Eddi and Shep, though they, apparently, want nothing to do with me, simply because of my contribution to this forum. The messenger should, apparently, be shot.
The fortunate thing is that I'm really "nobody"... no one in Second Life is going to base their actions or reactions upon my words or opinions, I hope. They'll decide for themselves, just as I do, and they'll choose their own actions, accordingly.

The magazine Rapture is crap. I had a huge laugh when someone above mentioned their vendor. Everytime I see it I want to close my eyes. Reading the mag is like sticking pins in my feet. It just sucks simply and honestly.
