OK, so i travel the circles in sl and while traveling I overheard this one. I'm not sure if this is true but it does make you think about who is lurking behind the pretty avatar. Apparently state prisons are going to allow people with life sentences play SL. According to the chat in the room they will be getting 2 hrs of play time a day to interact with the outside world. Laughs. I thought, "You must be joking." Maybe soon the days of questioning gender are soon in the past and the new question to ask is, "Are you on death row?" Anyway its something that I have pondered for the past week and have come up with this conclusion: Protect your identity and have fun. I hear prison sex is really hot.

I can see it now. Second Life helps prisoners escape. Prisoners building replicas of their prison and finding ways to escape.
Inmates are usually known by their nicknames..stay away from any avatars named George The Whore, Big Snake, or Hot Shower :p
Personally I think it's fine..
They're prisoners on death row, I don't think two hours a day will do anything to anyone.
If they're a danger physically to society because of some sort of mental of substance abuse problems, SL is just what they need to have some sort of interaction with people.

My mother thinks I'm nuts now with imaginary friends just think if she ever found out I had an inmate as a friend. I can't stopping laughing thinking of her facial expressions.
Ammon your blog is fantastic. I look forward to everything you do in sl. I see you kindness and I see your heart on your sleeve. Keep it up and many successes. Your like a breathe of fresh air that no one can take away from you or ever mimic.

All kidding aside this would be scary. Maybe Sl will mark there like payment box INMATE. Then we could all tell and run like hell in the opposite direction.
Well they use inmtes for all kinds of work now. Big companies contract them for call center work. I don't see the big deal it. It's not like they can come through the screen and stab you.
Well for me I'd like to keep an open mind and think the person behind the avatar is some what sane and hasn't had bloody hands in the past. It scares me to death.

Its like you can have the best security in rl and sl but if someone wants to get you bad enough they will. No one is ever safe and we are vulnerable.
Very true but why set your set up when you already know a fact this person failed in society. I just think its frightening.
I'm more worried about the ones who were clever enough not to get caught. I would think two hours a day would be more frustrating than fun. Hell, by the time I've attached all the sex accessories and found the perfect animation they'd be walking him back to his cell.

...Edith no kidding. The fact is being nice doesn't mean you have to share your personal information. If you don't feel comfortable sharing rl information in sl then that is your right.
I see it now prisoners teraforming in chains in a row for low wage=a pack a cigs a day.
I wouldn't mind have sex with a inmate. I bet all the pent up anger would be joyous. I am talking in sl not rl. I wouldnt want to be strangled soon after.
