Samurai-in-the-Storm ~ Limited Edition Release by Eshi Otawa

Wednesday 15th October ~ 4:00 PM SLT

Eshi Otawara, the renown artist whose works have been exhibited both in RL and in SL, announces her latest wearable fashion: Samurai-in-the-Storm. This will be the last limited release dress to be created under the "Chambre du Chocolat" label. Future releases will become know as the Eshi Otawara collection. This metaversal beyond haute couture dress was one of her early prim pieces of clothing creations, but was never before released, being saved for just the right timing. The dress was inspired from one of her RL paintings, which she made as her response to the destruction of hurricane Rita in 2005. From her experiences comes the courage to inspire and adorn, to delight the senses and surprise the eye; from tragedy arises beauty. All of these things come together in the designs by Eshi Otawara.

The Samurai-in-the-Storm is a rendering of a samurai spirit, and envelops the wearer in both the strength of armour (represented by the top portion of the dress) and the power of nature, as seen in the waves rising from the lower part of the dress. Raindrops caught in the wind encircle the wearer, showing the fortitude of the samurai to overcome obstacles no matter the nature of them. There is both power and softness in the dress; more a fantastical wearable art piece than what is typically seen in SL as a dress with billowy prims floating all around. This dress exudes strength from vulnerability, and will be unmistakeable to the wearer as an Eshi Otawara Original.

Only 7 of these dresses will be created; one has already been spoken for, one will be set aside for a future auction, and the remaining 5 will be made available for purchase for L$25, 000.

Eshi's creations are mostly not possible to wear in real life, which coincides well with her involvement with the NPIRL group in SL. Her designs in SL are, however, wearable, thus creating fantastic artistical experiences along with their clothing both for the wearer and the observer. Eshi's connection to fashionable art is also well known for having recently collected L$460,000 in a charity action by the Designers in Seclusion team for Relay for Life for her first SL dress, the Fishook.

Every design of Eshi's is artistically rendered in her spirit. When it leaves her desk and lands on SL soil we are awaken with her nature and remarkable talent. Her work has truly left a mark.

I am a proud owner of her first design the Fishook dress. The first moment I saw the fishook I knew she would never settle for average anything... and she has kept up her extraordinary designs from that moment on. The future is all hers.

Congratulations Eshi on your new "Eshi Otawara Designs" I am proud to have all your "Chambre du Chocolat" couture so far, and can't wait to see what is next.

Eshi, I bow to your creative artistically talented mind. YOU ROCK!

this was unbelievable to see in person...both the dress, and the fact that it sold out all 5 copies in 15 seconds! that has to be one of the fastest sales in SL history! first that Fishook selling for $460,000 and now these limited editions selling out so fast! when there is a next time, it's definitely a "be there early" event! wow!

Yes, Ricken, you probably would have to elbow me aside... this artist has done a stunning design, and I would probably wear the gown, myself; I never let gender discourage me from fine clothing designs.

I'd bet more than a few of us have tossed away the "bra" portion of an outfit, and worn the rest, eh? XD

Seems I remember Ricken in a stunning "little pink dress" once upon a time...
