inV Remembers 9/11

The 9/11 Memorial in Second Life is a sobering reminder of the lives lost in the terrorists attacks that still affect us today. The large walls with names listed by location on the infamous date provides strong visual evidence of the sorrow on what started out to be a normal fall day.

Another area of the memorial provides a human aspect by displaying pictures of those who passed, covering walls.

This wonderful, annual build provides a chance for us to remember those who passed in a senseless act of terrorism. Please take a moment to visit and offer your respects. The owners have a flower rezzing system available for guests to use. It's a powerful site that you won't want to miss.

Today we can sidestep the rush and chaos of SL for a few moments or more, and reflect on 9/11.

I read about Flight 93 on Wikipedia earlier, and it sent a shiver down my spine. There were many heroes, heroines and giants that day. And so much loss. Be proud, always remember.

This memorial is not the only one in SL. Many others have found ways to show the REAL. To reflect on only 1 given day is a shame. Do we get caught up in a game and forget the real pain that so many are in daily? Time to have a real look around. There is so much more to SL.

Yes, there is so much more to SL. And for the staff of inV, the magazine isn't everything. Which is why this post only focused on one memorial and we didn't post on all memorials out there. In addition, inV staff has real lives. The Daily is meant to offer examples of places to explore, not be all inclusive. That's what search is for. I can't be constantly immersed in the Daily or the Monthly. Sorry the work I do isn't enough.

A very moving and sad place to visit. When you see all the names you realize the scale of it. Thank you for the tp destination.
