NEW: Muscle Rising @ Animation Rising

Animations Rising is very pleased to announce a new product range: Muscle Rising. The central product of this new range is the Ultimate Fitness Center.

Have you wanted to start a small public gym, or even set one up in your own home for yourself and your friends, but didn't have the prims and/or the space for all that equipment? If so, Muscle Rising - Ultimate Fitness Center is for you!

The core component of the Ultimate Fitness Center is the mat. That is all you need to have placed permanently.

Another great feature of MR is that it is modular, and expandable. Once you have the mat, you may then select from a variety of add-on packs, as suits your needs. An add-on pack will contain (for example) a few items of workout equipment, along with all the associated animations. Simply install the add-on using the installer device and you're ready to go!

MR makes use of the tried and tested MLPV2 system. This means that pose balls are NOT linked to equipment, so it is possible to adapt them to the height of your avatar.

The mat comes with all the scripts needed to run the unit, and with a set of 9 workout animations, all of which are done on the mat: crunches and thigh exercises. This gives you a starting point on which to build with the add-on packs. Create the gym YOU want, customized to your needs.

The exercises included are:

- Crunches, legs up crunches, twisting crunches, bicycling crunches.
- Work inner left thigh, inner right thigh, our left thigh, outer right thigh, stretch inner thighs.

Add-on packs will install more workout poses and possibly equipment as well, depending on the pack you select. Any equipment will rez-on-demand, and once you are finished using it, stopping the mat will derez the equipment, so your prim count stays low. And many add-ons also feature sizzling gay sex animations too - so after your heavy workout, take a break and play with a friend. ;-)

One of the add-ons is, we believe, a first for SL: muscle worship. The name speaks for itself. ;-)

So, come down to Animations Rising, head over to the Muscle Rising room, and try the mat for yourself. As of this writing, seven add-on packs are available. We also have an ULTRA mat, which comes with all seven add-ons pre-installed, at a huge price savings.

Top 10 countdown with DJ Romeo

Beyonce's "Diva" takes a hard fall out of the Top 10. She fell so hard that she did not even show up in the Top 25 that I keep track of each week. Mary Mary's hit single, "God In Me" fell out of the Top 10 as well, but only to #13.

Deadmau5's single, "Faxing Berlin" makes a nice jump from #11 last week to finally debut in the Top 10. Stonebridge pumps out another remix, this time for Dianne Wesley's rather unimpressible song, "Ecstasy" and debuts in the Top 10 this week. Remixes for Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" have been out for quite awhile now, but the very hot remix byChriss Ortega finally makes a move into the Top 10 this week.

Look for Solange to be #1 next week. I would like to see Jipsta's remake of George Michael's "I Want Your Sex" to move quicker up the charts, but he will probably not hit the coveted spot for another two weeks (if at all). He has yet to get past Anjulie, The Pussycat Dolls and the fast approaching Kelly Clarkson.

LOOSE LIPS? "Frolic has wanted desperately to carve a niche out for himself"source says. He will lie to have it. But advertisers don't want him to continue lying to them and over charging for ads that don't turn customer profits in the end. "Shattered dreams and empty pockets" are what new designers are claiming Frolic Mills has left them. But Frolic keeps insisting it would be a great opportunity. He told our inVd ghost many lies to raise his visibility tremendously and could be a spring board for only one thing - your money. "This is why Mr. Mills deals with ladies because they are gullible," insider said.

(Scenario)An inVd ghost this afternoon contacted Mr. Mills about advertising in the Best of SL. Our inVd ghost posed as a new business owner and wanted some information about advertising. Have a look at this conversation.

We would love to anyone's input as to the logistic reality of having 17,000 kiosks in world and why do you need 16 servers? Please note our inVd ghost even tried correcting him by asking him did he mean 1700 and he replied back 17,000.

Next our inVd ghost asked him whats his monthly circulation and he wasn't very comfortable with disclosing this information. Why? We thought he may be on to us at this point but for 25k per ad our inVd ghost was persistent in finding out his circulation count. He finally said over 100,000 monthly. From our personal experience and speaking to other magazine owners this just seems bogus.

Mr. Mills mentioned in his editorial this month he wishes all magazines in world the best. But what fairness is there in the over-inflation of numbers when other magazine owners play it honestly? Food for thought - If there are 65,00-80,000 active online, this would mean nearly the entirety of SL. There may be 1 million accounts logged in during a 30-day period but this number is not unique log-ins. How many times do you log in a day - especially on a laggy day?

Before anyone screams sour grapes on our part, inV was alot of fun and very successful but we closed the in-world magazine because it was just becoming too much work and SL should be fun. We know the amount of effort it takes to do a monthly in-world magazine and have the utmost respect for those who continue to do this. But people should be aware of the demographics and statistics and not simply take everything at face value at least FLAMBOYANT FROLIC MILLS. In-world magazines can be an excellent way to advertise but don't just accept numbers without serious consideration. The best way to advertise is to diversify the media you are using to get your name out there.

Ask any magazine Editor in SL about these numbers and they'll all agree FROLIC YOUR ALL B.S.

Nadia Ali raced to the #1 spot overcoming a possible rebound by Lily Allen. The crown for #1 next week will be a tough fight between Solange and Kristine W. Both women have had #1 hits recently on the dance chart ("Sandcastle Disco" for Solange and "Never" for Kristine W.), so expect it to be a photo finish. Regardless of who gets it, they will both hold the top two spots next week.

A Hopping Good Time!

On April 10th, Hot 'N Hung held a Second Pride fund raising party. The fun began at 3pm slt with the very sexy DJ Larz. The sim maxed out very early on at 65-70. Contests galore, sploders and an Easter egg hunt! Weeeeeeee!!! While Larz was spinning the hottest tunes in SL, party goers searched the Hot 'N Hung sim on a wild Easter egg hunt. The eggs were filled with items donated by some of the best in Second Life, including Hot 'N Hung Resorts, Animations Rising, Tees that Teaze, Reardon Ember Designs, Rod's Clothiers, Sensual Man Art Gallery and our very own inV. All of the proceeds from the sales of the egg hunt went directly to Second Pride 2009.

The party continued into the night with the amazing DJ ARS. This man knows how to lay down the tunes. We were dancing to his beat for sure! There were so many sexy lil bunnies hopping on that dance floor it was hard to keep up.

Thanks to Fauxy Shepherd for putting on a fantastic event. Hot 'N Hung was the place to be to show your Easter Pride.

The single/female designer of Revniks insists the men demanded and threatened her to show the new collection to their girlfriends, claiming the men had guns, sources say.

"Bonnie threw a fit, ordered them to leave and threatened to call Jason Feingold," said source.

"She claims there were about nine of them and she thought they were Italian mafia- types and shoved a gun to her chest and were screaming at her to get on the floor.

SCANDAL BREWING: with overwhelming concerned emails about a nightclub that has emerged within the gay community our inVd investigating team has been out investigating in full force. "We've been all over these people and they have no clue" the inVd investigating team said followed by a giggle. A friend of one of the club owners confided to a close pal this past week: "We started a club with our alts." and sent the chat snapshot to invmagazine. The gay community won't know about our past unethical dealings if we don't attach our original names to the establishment" a insider told inVd. inVd will not mention the club under investigation at this time while we are still continuing our ongoing investigation.

It's Always Better at the Top: SkyRanch

There are places in SL that become synonymous with good times and SkyRanch is just such a place. What started out as a really novel idea has become an integral part of SL nightlife and community. Clubs in SL can seem a dime a dozen, but SkyRanch is among those that have carved out a niche for themselves. SkyRanch’s success is due to its friendly staff and crowds, fantastic music and amazing environment. Of course, behind any success is a talented and devoted individual. For SkyRanch that individual is club owner Thorn Andel. We were fortunate to get this busy guy to slow down for a bit to tell us about his spectacular venue.

inVd: How would you describe SkyRanch?
Thorn Andel: It’s a carnival up here at SkyRanch. I guess the concept is simple really...a friendly place to have a great time; a cornucopia of sight and sound if you will. LOL. But from the beginning Sky has always pushed the boundaries of Second Life

inVd: How did you come up with the name Sky Ranch?
Thorn Andel: The “SkyRanch” part comes from an old sci-fi movie I saw as a kid…something about Space Cowboys.We have been pushing the boundaries it all the time. In fact, we did the TV or Video thing last year. We have had SL's largest profile pic taker jumbo tron. (LOL. People complained about lag ...We will be doing more of that.) Our Top dance floor is at SL's highest. The one I had at 25,000 meters was returned recently "off world." We have what is likely one of SL’s largest “Glory Holes”. LOL. That’s keeping the cyber night life hopping and we have so much more in the works.

inVd: What advice do you have for those of us with slower computers or less graphics abilities to avoid the lag…besides buying a decent computer. LOL.
Thorn Andel: Well, removing one’s hud is a place to start. Our sim actually has less lag then most. We carefully watch the amount of scripts as well as monitor lag.

inVd: What was the best event you had so far? Does the club participate in any of the nonprofit events such as Relay for Life or Pride in Second Life?
Thorn Andel: Oh sure. We promote the worthy causes and yes we will have a great “Pride” event.One of our proudest events was last year on the 10th Anniversary of the death of Matthew Shepard. SkyRanch raised 50,000 L$ for the foundation.

inVd: Is there a philosophy behind Skyranch? And when is your next event?
Thorn Andel: Our philosophy is “Just be yourself and have fun.”Our next big event is the grand Opening of our New Location.

inVd: Can you give any hints at what’s in store at your new location?
Thorn Andel: Oh sure...bigger, faster, stronger, ‘badder’.... We are bring back the Giant Bucking Cock Ride. LOL. The new lounge has a more edgy look and feel.

inVd: I know everyone is excited about the grand opening. Is there anything else would you like the readers to know?

Greetings Everyone,

As many of you know, the economic times are not just tough around the world. Las Vegas has been especially hard hit. Unemployment has skyrocketed in this town and it is now over 10% and it is still rising. Major Hotels and Casinos have fallen on extremely tough times and I'm sure you will see many of them start to go bankrupt in the next few days and weeks. After talking to my boss on the phone last night, it is painfully apparent that I will also be losing my job in the next couple of days. There simply isn't the economic structure to support the business that I am in during these times.

I have obtained a form of employment that should keep food on the plate, for awhile anyway. However, sacrifices must be made and the choices are difficult. I have decided to have Cable TV, High Speed Internet Service and the Telephone in my house all disconnected. I will keep my cell phone. The savings will be 50-60/week and that, in essence, is my monthly car payment.

I have made many friends here and have grown very close to some. I hope that this time away will be short, but I know that things move fast in SL and everyone will move on quickly.

I am calling to have my services disconnected this morning. I don't know exactly how long it will take them to get around to turning it off, so I am saying goodbye now. It was fun, but it's now time to deal with the Real World and its cold, hard facts.

GIANCARLO TAKACS has outraged inVd readers and ignited a yet another scandal for himself. The now infamous Costa Porn blog which is sending laughter around the grid is seen as a mere publicity stunt from the Costa Camp. Once it was noticed and had taken a tail spin the Obsessed Costa Rica Executive Rawly Rousselot Panicked and blamed inVd. inVd had no afflilation to the Costa Porn Blog. The repeat pattern of behavior seems to run in yearly cycles for the Costa Rica Executive. Last year at this time Takacs created a scandal saying Pride 08 was a fraud that outraged the gay community. It was a huge humilation and blow to his ego for Takacs when people started talking and he was being banned from reputable gay establishments. Rawly Rousselot/puppet to Giancarlo Takacs jumped in to try saving his failing reputation. Takacs reputation has never fully recovered and will do anything to save it these days. "Second life is all he has and plays like it's his rl" an insider said. This evening we have contacted some of the past Pride 08 committee and they agreed to publically come forward to tell their side of the scandal and corrupt actions linked to the CEO of Costa Rica Sims.

SL is in a recession

The recession has hit many of our budgets hard this year. We have seen many sl suicides during these struggling times. We are are scaling back on shopping and land purchasing in SL and getting back to basics. Second Life for most of us fits into the entertainment category. That's usually where we cut first. People are now finding alternative ways to have fun. I recently did poll and found that almost 90% of the people I have spoken to have made drastic cuts in their SL spending. They also said though that they enjoyed the their second lives much more now and see them in a much more positive way.

Not having the money to spend has meant learning to build and do things we normally might have bought or to spend more time exploring than shopping. At the same time compared to alot of other RL activities, SL can be a an inexpensive way to have lots of fun. After all, it doesn't cost a dime to cyber. :)

One reader told me, "We sold our land and we rent now". His partner added, "We found we didn't use our home enough to keep paying the tier each month and we find renting a condo is much better for us".

As many of you know I am under contract until Dec.09 so the economy hasn't hurt me but I've been out supporting stores and donating to my favorite clubs more in these struggling times. Whatever you can give it is greatly appreciated and it all adds up. You can also join the group of your favorite designer. Many of them are runnng specials for their group members. It's a great way to stay in fashion and still save some lindens. Most of all, start exploring. You may find some fantastic new stores that is just starting out and often that means offering specials or lower prices to build their business.

Let's all work together to keep all our favorite places going and support the continued growth of our creative communities.

Then Doc decided to IM Eddi himself but Mr. Haskell still didn't respond to his publicly slanderous lies in another blog against Mr. Spad. This is the prime example of type of venomous character that is behind the avatar Eddi Haskell. inVd managed to get the personal IM sent to Eddi Haskell form Doc Spad following our post.

Saturday at HnH was truly a night to remember! The new sim is AMAZING and so was the St Patrick's Day extravaganza !! That's right! It was NOT just an Event - it was ooooo much more. Nine hours of live DJs spinning the tunes .... and not just average DJs either !DJ Fauxy, DJ Romeo Reardon, DJ Mathieu Karlsbar, and DJ Kiki DeVinna, one after the other, took the stage and wound us up till we popped!

"his story that he was a Marine in Iraq simply could not be true- you cannot play Second Life on a military base, and cannot tell people in Second Life you are an intelligence officer who just happens to be in the game for a bit of fun. It did not add up". Eddi Haskell said.

Doc Spad: I appreciate your support. . The only accusation that got under my skin was made by Eddie Haskel. He surmised that I wasn't a Marine. That "there was no way I could be in Iraq and be on the Internet". Well, Eddie, you are wrong!!! I've been in the Corps for 10 years, I serve proudly. In fact, being where I was in Iraq, I was lucky to have access to broadband and lucky that I discovered SL. It was a great diversion to the boredom. In Baghdad, there were no clubs or dance bars. SL gave me the opportunity to have fun with other people in a setting that was impossible in RL. I have met plenty of other service members in SL and some of them are here because I have introduced them to our virtual world.. I only hope that they have the same positive experience that I've had, and that they're unique perspective adds to all of us in SL.
To me, my Honor and integrity are everything!

We thought it would be good to run the entire interview of Doc. To clear up any false allegations of the inV contest as well. This is the original interview. A irresponsible blog owner and (54) Eddi didn't even have the decency to apologize to Doc Spad. We actually sat on this interview for a little while to see if they would and of course not.

Hey Doc.

I've included a few questions below for you to answer at your own convenience about what we discussed. We intend on incorporating them into an article about the matter on the blog sometime this week. Hopefully the questions cover the crux of the matter, but if you feel I've left anything, let me know. Talk soon Doc and thanks for taking the time to assist us with this.

inVd: Hi Doc, thanks for sitting down with us. Many will recall that you were a winner of one of the InVd Centerfold Contests last year. This was a legitimate contest, with fair rules and practise employed. However, several individuals with an axe to grind have called into question the legitimacy of the contest. Those several individuals have levelled accusations directly against you and us in regards to whether you winning the centerfold was genuine or not. What are your thoughts on these derogatory assertions being made?
Doc Spad: First of all...I don't think that most people really understand what type of contest this was. Let me remind people that in this contest people paid $L1 for each vote..and more importantly, the contestants themselves could vote!! Of course I wanted friends to vote for me..using their linden, but most of my votes were paid for by myself. This was the case for all of the top contestants.
The contest was designed to attract people with their own vanity and narcissistic desire. It worked. The last of the top winners were shoving money on the boards like crazy. For me, it seemed logical that as long as I won...i'd get the money I paid in back by winning the prize. At the very end...it was just a matter of who added enough to get over the top before it ended. And it was a neck and neck horse race up to the last second or two.
I ended up spending more $L than I won...LOL...testimoney to my own vanity???

inVd: Have you contacted any of the individuals that are behind the accusations and if so, have they replied to your response?
Doc Spad: I'm enjoy SL... too much to get into the mud on this issue. I don't really know who these people are, with one exception. For that matter, most of what I've read, has been by anonymous individuals that don't have the guts to use their real name.

inVd: It's no secret that you are a US Marine serving your country and have recently served in Iraq and in the Far East. That commands the respect of everybody here at InVd and Im sure all of our loyal readers. As somebody who is serving their country as a troop and who enjoys spending some time in Second Life while away from duty, how does it feel to have these unfounded and unwarranted accusations being made about you?

inVd: Finally to set the record straight and for the benefit of any doubt so that people can be left in no uncertain terms: was the InVd Centerfold Contest that you won last year rigged, were you given an unfair advantage of winning in any way and did you have any prior affiliation or improper contact about the contest with inVd before or during the contest?
Doc Spad: I had met Ammon at some of the bars and Edith as well. As far as any unfair advantage? No. The only unfair advantage to this contest was that people that had money to spend on it (and were crazy enough to spend it...LOL), had an advantage.
And as far as inV is concerned? From they're perspective, I'm sure thay made $L. I have no problem with them making money...every contest in SL, like this, is designed to make money for the sponsor. The only victims in this contest were people like me, that were vain enough to think they could win. We all knew we were "buying" any victory. I was just lucky enough to be the last one to throw $L into the pot before the contest board closed.

inVd: Doc, thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us and clearing the false rumors. You are a true brave hero and courageous in serving your country the way that you do. BIG PAINE IN THE ASS! Syriana Paine is every club owners worst PAINE! She's got them speeding away like professional NASCAR drivers! Her delusional diva DJ attitude is leaving club owners small crowds these days with a big price. Pain's behind the scenes club politicking are biting her in the ass and leaving her DJ schedule with large gaps. "She was driving business away," #1 club owner said. "She is shelf ass" #2 club owner added. The truth is, she is making a lot of people uncomfortable who only want to have a good time. At inVd we hear she is being fired all over the place and more is on the way. She is "only nice for one thing, the Lindens", #3 club owner wanted to finally add. These days it looks like Paine has only lint and mints in her pixel purse.

This past month inVd had paid a noobie to go and tip 25L to Paine and she didn't even say thank you. He immediately asked her to play a song and she also didn't respond. We can only hope for next time.

inVd WEATHER ISLAND PARTY. On March 03, Jason and I decided to throw a early spring break get together at Weather Channel Island. It was Radical dudes! 45 slebrities attended in high spirits. I spotted fashions of Redgrave, the Zoo, CDD, Valiant, Armidi and SF designs amongst the most fashionable crowd. Ice skating, sledding, snowboarding and the other other cold weather activities are a great way to get together and have a blast. By the end of the party some of us were all little sloshed and we felt like an avalanche occurred on our screens. Good times and hi5 spring breakers 09.

This tropical paradise is the result of Island's painstakingly detailed rendition of Fauxy's vision with his own creative flair and touches. From the moment you enter, you feel as if you truly have entered something special.

"We wanted this to capture the true spirit of HnH - a place where there is no inhibition, where there is something for everyone," Island told us as we gazed up at the massive five-tiered waterfall that crowns this island jewel.

On Friday February 20th, Kiki DeVinna and Larz Beresford were officially married. After an almost 3 year engagement both in and outside of SL. Kiki, owner of Fuze Productions in SL, and Larz Beresford, DJ, musician, and builder exchanged vows. They have been providing entertainment for countless events including Rasta Beach and NEX-Core, as well as crossover events with RL television including The Discovery Channel (USA) and Nest (Zurich). Kiki is also co-owner of FUZE FM, and all-request Internet radio station where Larz does live radio shows from Miami twice weekly.

First, they found a exclusive private location - Every detail was kept secure until an hour before the wedding. The long list of guests were not provided a LM until just an hour or so before the event and access to the land was limited to the private group created solely for this night. Behind the scenes. Kiki and Larz worked tirelessly for weeks for their special night - creatively transforming the site which included an exquisite church, a gorgeous pond complete with Swans, a huge reception tent and stage of marble and draped in the finest silk, and lush landscaping. and a complete fireworks display. All of this built for one nite, for one wedding. Press exclusive coverage was limited for inVd and Vain Magazine. Chantal Harvey did the videography and Jen Moonlight captured candid shots throughout the evening. Traditional wedding portraits were commissioned from Jade Collins to be captured at a later time in yet another secluded location.

A horse-drawn carriage waited outside while Rick Wake, preacher extraordinaire, performed the nuptuals in an intimate chapel and timeless design by Rizla Laval. Tears during the vows exchange turned to cheers as the newly married couple was presented after the ceremony.

It was truly a night for fashions as well. DeVinna's amazing wedding gown was designed exclusively for her by Iota Ultsch of Tres Jolie, was commissioned for an undisclosed amount. The bridesmaids gowns and Maid of Honor's gown were also designed by Iota and had that famous look and style. It was better than what you'd see on the red carpet. Nobody does that like Tres Jolie thats for sure. The groom and groomsman were dressed in the finest from Styles of Edo, named MFA's 2008 Best Male Fashion Label and recipient of Vain Magazine's 2008 Reader's Choice Award. The flower girl wore a dress created by Babydoll Stardust, owner of Babydoll Boutique.

The wedding party included Maid of Honor Dyna Diller, owner of Body Perfect, Best Man Jade Collins of Faith Photography, with Bridesmaids Amare DeCosta and Lunabeam Moonites, and Groomsman Sethe Paine and Octavian Venera. Sethe's beautiful daughter, Sofie, was the flower girl.

All music during the event was provided by Larz himself but also included a few surprises. Carah Nitely flew in from London and performed Etta James' At Last for the couple's first dance, and graciously agreed to remain on stage and perform an intimate concert for the cherished guests, making the night that much more special for all in attendance. There were also toasts and comments from the guests, recorded and played at the reception. The reception also included a menu fitting such an event, from lobster and prime rib to tuxedo strawberries and banana splits.
Larz took the helm after Carah and had the place hopping, cheering, and dancing the night away.

BOOM! A massive display of fireworks. The display of programmed and impromptu fireworks smothered the night sky and proclaimed the endless love between the couple. With guests from as far and wide as Paris, London, and Australia, some staying up till 4am and later just to be a part of this event, it was a night to remember forever. We wish Kiki and Larz the very best and a love that grows even deeper day by day.

Grampian Falls to the Ground

inVd continues to be at the forefront of breaking news with the revelation that the once popular Grampian gay resort is now resigned to the annuls of history. The problems at Grampian first started last month when the owner of its sims, Ian Bartfeld suddenly and abruptly fired all of his key staff. This led to outrage among many residents who decided to leave Grampian as a result of the abrupt dismissal of his dedicated staff.
The Grampian sims as they currently stand: Desolate and Empty

However, a few residents remained and continued to pay their rent to the Grampian owner recently only to discover that no access was available to their homes. inVd has learned from inside sources that a request to close the Grampian sims was made this week, but a request to reopen them for 24 hours so that the residents were able to collect their objects and belongings was granted by Linden Labs to an anonymous individual who we will not be naming.

The Grampian blog has now been taken down and the sims stand empty as shown in the above picture. inVd is also privy to the fact that many Grampian residents were left distressed and in tears at the way Grampian had been abruptly closed in the manner that it was with no notice or explanation. Comments are closed for this article and we are currently talking to ex Grampian residents at this time.

Sarco Sound Folds

Many of you will have heard and seen DJ’s from the popular Sarco Sound group. It was a group originally setup by Sarcophilus Halderman a couple of years back to include a roster of international DJ’s that would perform under the “Sarco Sound” banner. Sarco himself was the head DJ and his group spawned out many other popular DJs including Andrey Messmer, HarleyMC Homewood and Anjey Amat to name just a few. Earlier this morning, Sarco announced that he was closing his group and taking time away from SL citing RL personal issues. Sarco has subsequently deleted everybody from his group and Sarco Sound is now effectively defunct. Here is a copy of his press release that he issued this morning:

“Due to a number of reasons, I will be away from SL for an extended period of time,

Consequently,I have also taken the decision to wind-up sarco sound and friends of sarco sound

It was a bold experiment and I'm very proud of all we have achieved in the last 2 years

Unfortunately, I find it increasingly difficult to sustain things from financial, emotional and energy points of view.

If you wish to continue receiving notices for your favourite DJs I recommend you join their groups.”

ARS NORTHMEAD was spotted at Redgrave early this morning. The store was packed with fans screaming "We love you Ars!" Make no mistake about-Dj Ars he can"dress up" in a heartbeat if he has too! He was in dark sunglasses and hair slicked back as he smiled and waved to adoring fans. Of course, we love it when he dresses down too. This hunk would look good in a garbage bag. Of course his fans think he would look better in nothing. We are all hoping to see that sometime.

WOLF HOFFNUNG was seen at Bubbly on Feb 16th with his new bride Tonya Petrov after a gorgeous Japanese-inspired wedding. He didn't miss a beat when a couple of RP cops busted the joint. Wolf jumped right into the RP and offered to assist in the interrogation. His brother, Cole Sirnah, broke out a hammer and wire cutters to join in the fun. No fingers were injured....that we know of.

SWAFFETTE FIREFLY was among the featured designers at a fantastic Wedding Fashions Show for Best of SL on Feb 16th. Her amazing designs received rowdy applause and this fashionista and perfectionist was allegedly so distraught over a crooked bow tie that she knocked another patron off her chair trying to reach for her diamond-studded hip flask. The patron is fine and told us in confidence that a black-eye from such a diva is quite an honor.

Another trendy gay establishment boots the Drama Dj

DJ Gregster Kidd is a DANGEROUS man in the gay community. He leaves drama and chaos in his wake once again this past week, inVd has heard. Reports are that all hell triggered between DJ and employer and the rumors have been circling that the DJ had a problem about where his employer advertises. It ended up the DJ was fired for, yet once again, insubordination. The following night the DJ returned in anger to his once place of employment making repetitive insults and ridicules in open chat about his former employer and his business decisions. People were screaming "You've got to Leave!" pouting, Greg didn't split easily and his former employer had no option but to place a permanent banned. Some people were quoted saying, "We are excited to see him leave!" Another said, "He will not be missed!" According to many people the DJ's past reputations and his continued presence creates chaos and puts businesses in peril. No injuries were reported that evening or abuse reports made. The DJ was reportedly shortly replaced and was officially labeled a LIABILITY.

inVd also found out this happened twice to the DJ this past week at two of trendiest gay spots in the community. No wonder they're all calling you "Banned Greg!"

Animations Rising - Happy Anniversary

Celebrations start midnight SL 7th-8th

On February 8, Animations Rising officially becomes one year old! And wow, what a year it has been!

Two men got together and turned a small art gallery, "The Penguin Bar", into a small store called "The Penguin Bar Animations". That store sold animations, of course, and little else. The two men were Island Projects and Miro Collas.

As name of the store began to spread, more products were added and the store grew. Fast. It outgrew the initial plot, and subsequent parcels which we acquired to get more room, till finally, the big step was taken: a whole SIM, Phoenix Rising. ( Orginal Name of Sim)

Now known as Animations Rising, both the business and the SIM, we continued to expand, adding now new product lines to our offering: Living Light, then silks, and piercings - and throughout, constantly renovating improving, growing.

So this year, on February 7 and 8, we want to celebrate, and we would like to say thank you to those who have been our customers all this time. Our group has just surpassed 900 members, which we feel is pretty amazing!

So, at midnight on February 7, all Rising Silks will go on sale, at 30% off! And during the day of February 8, we will be giving out gift cards at random! As well stop in and get your "VALENTINES SILK" FREE to GROUP MEMBERS!

Also, we will be launching a new product line at this time: "Rising Silks - Tribal Series". As the name suggests, these outfits are designed with a distinctly tribal feel to them. GET SHAGGED - Inteview with Shyayn Lusch

Designers often are more than simply creative people. These often eclectic and unique individualists are the sort of folk for whom creativity is a natural extension of their selves. Shyayn Lusch is one such designer. Her creations under the label SHAG are fast becoming a staple adornment for fashionable living. This outspoken firebrand is the sort of person whose strong personality is both overwhelming and inviting. She is a force to be reckoned with who is still approachable and it is this juxtaposition of strength and comfort that makes SHAG creations unique. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Shyayn on a building platform surrounded by the odds and ends that reflect the dynamic flow of a driven creator. Shyayn was wearing an intricate and sexy kimono-inspired ensemble.

Shyayn Lusch: I think I was feeling a bit Ninja...well, Diva Ninja

To get into character, I tossed on my best kimono and sat down with Shyayn around a fire pit and was immediately comfortable as she told me about how she got her feet wet in Second Life.

Shyayn Lusch: Well, I received an e-mail from a good friend that said, "Did you get my e-mails RE: Second Life?" I had been deleting what I'd assumed was porno spam from one Calista Bing for weeks. A week later, Shyayn Lusch was born.

inV: So when you first logged in what did you think?
Shyayn Lusch: Well, it was quite horrible actually....I had no clue what to do. My friend refused to friend me and passed me some LMs to a few freebie places and told me to fix myself as best I could. So I stumbled around to the freebie places for a few days....and managed to get some freebie gear on. It was baptism by fire. She said I had to learn for myself. Honestly, it was the best thing she could have done. Otherwise, I never would have started learning the interface or anything.

Shyayn Lusch: Well, after a few days at the freebie places she offers me a teleport to a club. I was surrounded by avatars with fancy hair, skins, etc. She took one look at me and told me I was a hot mess....and gave me $L700. She said I was only to spend that money on prim hair and left it at that. I quickly learned how to buy lindens to acquire a fancy beach-front property, replete with dolphin.
inV: It seems you conquered the "hot mess" to say the least.
(Shyayn Lusch blushes.)
Shyayn Lusch: Thank you, kind sir.
inV: Once you got yourself sorted, what inspired you to build?
Shyayn Lusch: One of my hobbies early on was modifying and decorating my virtual homes. I liked a lot of the homes on the market, but nothing seemed quite what I wanted....so I learned to modify and re-texture and so forth. I got more interested in making something that was EXACTLY what I wanted as time passed. One day I rolled over to a sandbox and tried to build this couch that I saw somewhere that I wanted to have in SL. I still have it....

Shyayn didn’t blink twice when I asked to see her first creation. While she referred to it as another “hot mess”, it seemed quite well done to me. The black sofa was well thought out and very modern, better than some I’ve seen for sale.

Shyayn Lusch: I was so upset and discouraged that I didn't pick up a prim for months. But I was determined. I started to try to build the couch again a number of months later. I'll show you what came out.

The revamped build she rezzed was certainly an improvement despite having started off well in my opinion. The textures were phenomenal and blended perfectly together to create a striking piece you just wanted to curl up on.

Shyayn Lusch: I have no training in graphic art or 3-D applications other than what I learned here. The first time I opened Photoshop it scared the crap out of me.
inV: How did you come to decide to open up your own store?
Shyayn Lusch: Well, I was forced to....by a friend. I kept building all of this stuff....and I always that it was terrible. I was and still am my own worst critic. Building allowed me to express a creative side of myself.....so I was VERY hesitant to put anything out there. So I set up my first store on a 4,096 prim parcel that I thought I would NEVER fill. In a month or so it was so full that it looked like a flea market....
inV: Obviously you began to see others enjoyed them too?
Shyayn Lusch: Yes, I found that people liked some of the things I made and I was incredibly flattered. But opening the first store took my building to a whole new level....I was on fire.

inV: What inspired the name "SHAG"?
(Shyayn Lusch laughs and tries to think about the name "SHAG.")
Shyayn Lusch: The same friend that forced me to open my first store apparently decided that it was time to do some restructuring... I had started building entire rooms....that were all over my build platform. I was, as before, refusing to put them out there for some reason. One of our mutual friends came over and gave me a proper scolding for not having it all for sale. So we talked about a new store....and started thinking up potential names, including “SHAG”. I delayed as long as I could....and made every excuse. It was starting to look like some type of freakish doll house up here.
(Shyayn Lusch laughs)
Shyayn Lusch: So one day I log in to a group invitation from my friend to the group ~Shag~. And so, that is now "SHAG" was born. I wish I had some sexy or provocative story to tell you about how my creations came to bear the name "SHAG," but that's it.

Shyayn laughed, but the true value of that story is that no one makes it alone. Even with the most immense talent, we require the support of true friends to find our way. Shyayn is nonetheless very much her own person and SHAG is very much a reflection of the woman behind the creations

inV: I don't think you would be offended when I say that you are certainly one tough bitch. :P SHAG seems to have so much of your personality in it.
Shyayn Lusch: I've always been outspoken and willing to push the envelope, so something as provocative as "SHAG" was fine by me.

inV: is outspoken and pushing the limits what you would say is the overall feel in your designs?
Shyayn Lusch: To be sure, my friend saw that in me and aptly named my brand. I know that in creating things and putting my name on them I push myself. I push myself to build things that are a challenge for me. I push myself to make them well-crafted and utilitarian. To me, my creations scream "SHYAYN." But most people say, "OMG, I want this furniture in RL." (After asking if I really did "all of this" myself.) I take that as a compliment.... I create the things that I want.... I want larger-than-life beds made from rich fabrics and expensive wood.

inV: I mean so many designers just borrow from RL or focus on utility or one aspect but you really try to create a mood
Shyayn Lusch: Precisely.... When I started I would build one piece....a couch or sofa. But then I would think, "I really want to make a room that feels like X." I strive to make things that are useful for the way people interact and live in SL.

inV: That must be a challenge...I mean "living" in SL has is own design needs
Shyayn Lusch: To me, if a particular room or space is not conducive to social interaction and does not generate a "good feel" or a place where people want to stop and talk....then it's useless. The levels of intimacy created by particular rooms are different, of course. Or, the levels of intimacy that I attempt to create, I should say.

inV: What are some things you are looking to do in the near future?
Shyayn Lusch: Well, in the near future I'm hoping to start building fully-furnished skyboxes and pre-fabs. But really, I try my hand at everything from hair and jewelry to palm trees.
inV: I can't wait to see those. I imagine doing pre-fabs would be like going full-circle for you, having started modifying your home
Shyayn Lusch nods. Exactly. It's the most natural evolution for me...to be sure.

inV: what sort of advice would you give a noob who just has landed into SL?
Shyayn Lusch: Learn how to do as much as you can on your own and ask for help only when you NEED it. I guess that could be applied to people just starting out their creations too. I could write a book on what-to-tell-a-noob, but that's it, in short. Like I said, Ms. Calista Bing did me a favor my throwing me to the wolves.
inV: It certainly lets you know if you have the stuff to make it in here
Shyayn Lusch: Exactly. She left me to fend for myself. And I learned A LOT in the process.

Some of you will be aware that a blog was setup last week with the sole objective of causing harm, alarm and distress to the various members of staff here at inVd. The blog has a pink background and contains an abundance of postings containing lunatic rants and hurls of abuse at our members of staff. When the blog was originally setup; we at our inVd offices found the rants to be rather amusing and over the top. We laugh most things off because we don’t take ourselves too seriously and appreciate good humor. However, more recently, the blog’s insane rantings have turned more sinister, vicious and evil.
An excerpt taken from Eddi Haskell's obsessed blog

Yesterday, our Editor in Chief gained concrete evidence that the man behind the obsessively insane blog is none other than the man behind the Eddi Haskell avatar. We actually did suspect it was Eddi, but we weren’t in possession of proof until yesterday. In addition to Eddi Haskell’s vicious attacks on most of the inVd members of staff, he’s also been spending most of his free time setting up new alts such as “ammon gossipgirl” and “jasonfeingold ghost.” He introduced these alts in an effort to harass us here at inVd and to grief sims such as Boots Beach to spread his vile hatred and to just generally make a dire nuisance of himself.

In the space of one week: Eddi Haskell under the guise of other alts and various noms de plume he has contributed to the following harassment:

1) Posted sick and disgusting images of people wielding blood dripping knives in an attempt to harm, alarm, cause fear and distress to various members of inVd’s staff;
2) Made attacks on MTD1952 Timeless about his appearance and more repugnantly, Eddi has made attempts to reveal a certain member of inVds staff RL information. He has a known history of doing this to various other people;
3) He has made crazy and delusional accusations and repulsive rants claiming Demerick and I are mentally ill and Eddi has spent considerable time writing up wacked and jumped up diatribe to that effect;
4) He has made countless vicious and abhorrent characterizations of our Editor-in-Chief, Ammon Pera in an attempt to inflict mass harassment and has attempted to spread his hatred by griefing sims and shouting out the url of his revolting blog.
5) He has made unfounded, wild and baseless accusations that we have rigged contests in the past and has published images of animals in distress and conveys images of Nuns in a disparaging fashion.

The list continues further, but we won’t exhaust describing all of his maniacal actions here. So why are we reporting this now? Well, at first we laughed it off and thought it was somebody who obviously just had too much free time on his hands and was clearly very bored.

However, Eddi’s harassment has grown increasingly relentless and entirely reprehensible to the stage that we are actually gravely concerned about his well being and mental state of health. His actions are extremely worrying and if you happen to know Eddi Haskell or have or did consider him as a personal friend, like some of us here at inVd once did to, then encourage him to seek some professional medical help. Very evidently, he needs it and he needs to hear it from somebody who he will listen to and it’s not likely to be from us considering his deranged and obsessive state of mind.

This post has a meaningless title, like the sturm und drang of the still-clanging bells of blog vs. blog and personality vs. personality "journalism" that's almost become a plague to some of us.

Personal attacks on blog-sites, critical of my wardrobe, my choice of shoes, my association with InVogue, all of which are part of an online "game" that I play, called "Second Life". Well, whoop-de-fookin'-doo! Some folks have waaaaay too much time on their hands, methinks.

What fascinates me is the marginal literacy of the participants in all this garbage, and its scant resemblance to anything remotely identifiable as "journalism", which is the only reason I ever penned a comment or blog post for InVogue. A genuine interest in writing, a joy in participating in the SL gay community, some blatant self-interest in promoting my efforts as a dancer/host/entertainer in the club scene, and yes, my own admitted human weakness as an indefatigable "attention whore" made me reach out a bit, take a risk, and write upon these pages, in the hopes someone, somewhere, would find my meanderings amusing, at least, and thought-provoking, at best.

I have consciously and determinedly refrained from responding to any of the ongoing "wars" between certain blogsters and factions who seem to have some sort of sick, childish agenda and incredibly overinflated self-images which drive them to initiate social warfare rather than social interchange, in these venues.

Here's a little bit of Second Life lore, for ya. Anyone ever visit "Waterside", and listen to the open voice chat there? Youngsters, mostly, incredibly impressed with themselves, unabashedly critical of everyone and everything around them, their speech and mannerisms thoroughly suffused with vapid criticism, cynicism, scorn, hatred, disrespect, foul language, repeated use of the words "nigger" and "fag" as offhand adjectives to describe even their friends and, presumably, "peers".

It's a sure-fire way to bring on a bout of depression, just listening to these complete wastes of good air, maundering away about how cool they are and how useless/ugly/stupid/nigger/fag/dipshit/bonehead/gay everyone around them is. One wonders why they go on breathing? Suicide would seem a much more intelligent act, given their purported view of the world, but for one thing; they're young, dumb, have never experienced hardship, have never fought beside a dear friend and watched him die, have never worked hard for anything in their privileged and "entitled" existence, have never invested one iota of themselves in the interest of another human being, much less sacrificed anything for the welfare of another. And so, they must be forgiven, for allowing their inexperience and complete lack of substance to escape their filthy little mouths, so easily.

I claim no special gift of 'wisdom' nor superiority of intellect, here; but I've lived a long time upon this earth, comparatively, and seen some pretty incredible bits of history go down, right before my eyes, some of which I found myself smack dab in the middle of, much to my dismay, or my joy, or my deep, deep sadness.

So you see, it's easy for me to sit back and smile and nod, when the proverbial excrement hits the oscillator, and "who flung poo" becomes more important than who created beauty, or did a kindness to another, or expended great effort to reach a goal, or even just emulated a shoe design in digital form, presenting a target for a jealous or petty or inferiority-plagued "competitor's" crosshairs.

My beautiful fellow Second Life residents, your avatars are just pixel-dolls, and real life is much, much more important than anything that happens there, but still the attitudes and mannerisms that permeate your Second-Life persona are, in some ways, reflections of what's inside the human being at the keyboard. Think a bit, choose to portray what's of value to you, (if anything), and if acrimony, hate, exploitation, and greed are your pastimes, then by all means, bring them along with you, to render our Second Life experience more "real", for these are parts of any world in which human beings walk.

Some will choose to aspire to better things, and there will be places, activities, and beauty left by their minds and hands, here in Second Life, for us all to enjoy. I swing my cam toward the beauty, kill my sound and shut my eyes to the ugliness and fear and immaturity, and enjoy every spare moment I can be "in-world". Don't you?

The Red and Blue Macaw set offers two parrots to spice up any Second Life environment. Each bird is well textured with realistic animations. Setup is simple and allows the owner to create three points for each parrot to fly between. Additionally, the birds come with special feeding poles and droppable apples to feed them. A parrot tree is also included.

Those who have owned birds will appreciate the value of the feature allowing 2Xtreme's birds to be muted or their volume to be turned down. With little effort, we can be spared in-world what is arguably the worst part of having a bird for a real life pet--the constant squawking early in the morning when sleeping in is a necessity.

New @ Zooby's the most realistic pets in sl

A major challenge to Second Life creators is bringing our favorite real world items into our virtual setting. Zooby's is known for creating quality realistic animals to us. Their Ultimate Gray Tabby Cat is another fine example of the company's attention to detail and scripting skills.

One minute with the richly textured kitty had me marvelling at how high quality it is. Not only do the finely sculptured features and life-like actions add to the animal, it also breathes. The usual kitty sounds of purring and mewing serve as reminders that kitty is occupying the world and a variety of options keep the tabby fun.

The tabby comes with several accessories, including a ball, bed and even a litter box. Water and food dishes provide the cat with basic nourishment and a toy worn by the owner offers Av/kitty interaction.

Cat lovers are sure to enjoy the presence of the Ultimate Zooby Gray Tabby and the best part is, even though kitty uses it, the litter box never needs to be cleaned.

Since Migi Voom likes to send out meaningless note cards of my conversation to other blogs ( Tacky). Which took place almost a year ago. I thought I would comment on this weeks style at Muism.

When I saw this I immediately thought of the after Christmas clearance bin at the Gap http://www.gap.com/. In real life this outfit would be perfect for a Sunday afternoon running errands for any woman. Maybe picking up the weekly dry cleaning, raking the leaves, pottery class or brushing the dog. Did she forget this is Sl we don't have errands. If you like looking like a kindergarten teacher this outfit would be perfect. Just don't expect prince charming Imming you in a club or any gay guy saying you look fabulous.

If you want people to consider you a top fashion designer your going to have to do better than this drab sweater.

Club Vision Minbari by Pierrick Lubitsch

I’ve always been present in SL’s nightlife events: at first, I was just a dance floor addict, but I was soon to become an active part of the stage…because I’ve always considered my Second Life as a non-stop party. I hosted the famous club’s parties for 8 months! I also hosted parties and became an artistic advisor in various places: the Koola Club and many others. So when Johan Garfield – owner of Club Vision Minbari and friend of mine – asked me to become his business partner and resident VJ on a brand new concept of an SL club, I didn’t hesitate a single second to join the crew.

We’ve been opened since mid-December and we’re witnessing a huge success though we invested very few money in advertisement and promo. During our pre-launch parties, we were using the Club as a recreational location designed to entertain Minbari residents only. The first weeks were meant to be a test: we needed to be sure that Club Vision could find it’s place among the many clubs in SL and what I can say today is that we’re doing great as a complementary European night club for fun and premium events. Club Vision is now opened to all SL residents.

We’re already having a lot of VIP guests enjoying this mix of music and videos in a relaxed and ‘without pretention’ atmosphere and we hope many new guests will come and discover this original and amazing venue. We have regular schedules for our European parties and VJ Johan, VJ Lit and I are setting the dance floor on fire everyday – except Mondays – from 22.00 CET (1.00 pm SLT) to midnight (and more and more often later!).

On Sundays, we also have our very own special event, the Club Vision Gay Tea Dance, created to make a tribute to the 80’s and 90’s GTDs in famous Parisian clubs like Le Palace, Le Queen or Les Bains-Douches, inspired themselves by "Sundays at Studio 54", which catered to a US gay clientèle. We’re also planning to house a few ‘unexpected events’ on a regular basis, but this is a surprise!

Various personalities in the art, entertainment and fashion of SL’s world are pushing us for turning Club Vision into a trendy disco, including the inV Daily crew! Many famous SL DJs, who happen to be my friends, have been very supportive lately and are strongly encouraging us. Keeping the spirit of international gay clubs in mind, our parties are all about fun, music and glamour. Every evening brings disco music, gay entertainment, a bunch of stupendous video-clips and a psychedelic visual experience.

During our theme parties, our guests are encouraged to dress up to the theme. Hosting cheesy music and displaying hot videos on wide screens all over a multi colored and ever-changing environment, we love to bring back to life the feel of the 70s, 80s, 90s and we also release recent hits in a state-of-the-Art ambience. Club Vision Minbari has some fab things planned for the SL audience in 2009, beginning this month. But January 2009 is just the beginning! So stay tuned and see you soon on the dance floor! This is the Police/Emergency version of the Lusch Motors Range Roamer Sport. Based off a British police vehicle with matching colors. It comes with a lightbar on top and strobes on the back and front bumper. The color of the lightbar and strobes can be changed. The siren sound can be changed as well.

Sometimes all the plans you make, make a turn in a direction you weren't expecting, hoping for ... but not expecting.

Juicy is two galleries, the guest artist exhibit gallery, Juicy, and the main Castle Gallery, both now on the sim Misali. What a beautiful place.

Poison water, dark skys and my own home made castle.

A breath of fresh air. No clothing signs in the sky and no slingo shouts flooding the local chat.

Come see the grounds enjoy the mood of juicy. It may storm now and then as rain is always in my forcast. But be forwarned ... dont drink the water no matter how juicy you think it is ... its Poison, yumm my kind of poison. along with the mood music come chill.

You will find teleports throught the grounds to get around. They are somewhat hidden with a fern or two as to not spoil photos should you choose to shoot.

The Castle main Gallery has two floors. The main gallery will feature my newest works and the second floor matains the popular pieces that still please visiting collectors.

At the moment my Juicy Gallery is located on the sim but up at 500m. I am building its new location at ground level this week. Juicy Gallery is now exhibiting sabra Hemingways new works. She will be leaving at the end of the month. I look forward to seeing her work showing up in many galleries and in private collections across the grid.

Juicy Gallery will continue to be a place for New SL Artists to showcase their talents. I will be watching for exciting and intriguing new artists to invite to Juicy each month.

Thank you to all that visited my Castle Valeriya Artist Gallery over the last two years. I promise Juicy will be a place for visits and photos in a dark sort of friendly mood.(still a bit under construction, but open)

Homelife with Kiki and Larz

Since entering Second Life with Kiki in 2007, we have owned a huge variety of homes ranging from a <100 prim Japanese style shoe-box size home to the famous 10,000Sq, 2288 prim behemoth Modern-Retro home built by The Firm and featured on 60 Minutes.
Currently, we have two homes, both built by "[ba] barnesworth anubis prefabs" (53,42,36). The 'belle aire' and The 'villa amalfi'. The bell aire is an Beverly Hills style home while the villa amalfi reminds me of Coconut Grove in Miami - tropical, serene, and realizing with amazing textures inside and out. The front patio portion is an add-on that is included, but does not rez with the home, leaving you the option to use it or not. As you can see below, I chose to include it but I have to say the home is equally beautiful without it.

The foyer is open through both first and second levels, giving you opportunity to take in the expansive, but not overwhelming size of the home. We built a kitchen and dinning area to the right, and a media room with adjacent living room to the left.

Kiki and I did some custom work on the place as well, including fireplaces, an arbor on the east side, a retaining wall and railing around the exterior, a helipad, and some minor terraform with rocks and waves. See below for credits to the designers whose products we purchased to decorate this home. Kiki and I are both music lovers and Djs so of course there is also a roof-top dance floor with a laser light show and fog, LOL. Window treatments are still unfinished until we decide what we want to make / buy.

Exclusive inV Interview with DJ Wesley Spengler

Wesley Spengler is one of Second Life’s most popular and notable DJ’s. DJ Wes as many of us like to call him has been spinning the decks for as long as I can remember since joining SL. He’s worked at all the top clubs and most recently, he setup his very own called the Pavillion Nightclub. I’ve known Wes for a considerable time now and I’ve also had the pleasure of working with him. He is one person who you never hear a bad word said about from anybody and he’s a consummate professional in his work. Many aspiring DJ’s look up to Wes and watch his work ethic in creating their own unique style of DJing. I managed to catch up with Wes earlier this evening about his brand new exciting venture at iDanceRadio.fm as documented on the Daily earlier this week.
inV: Hi Wes, thanks for chatting with us. We've learned the exciting news that you will be a regular part of iDanceRadio.fm's exciting new Friday lineup. iDanceRadio.fm is generating a buzz in the online world as being one of the hottest new dance Internet Radio Stations. How does it feel to be a part of the new radio station and what can your loyal Second Life DJ fans expect to hear from you there on Friday nights?

Wesley Spengler: It feels great to be keeping company with some of the top DJs in the country, frankly. The line-up on the station includes DJ Sticky Boots, was voted one of the Top 10 DJs in the U.S. by DJ Times Magazine, plus we've got the very well-known Chris the Greek on-board, along with Dom Armano, Darryl Owens, Harry Towers and more.

As far as what to expect, for starters, I don't talk on-stream like I do in an SL set. ;-) But beyond that, more aggressive mixing (since I can focus better on that part of my job!), and a more aggressive club sound overall than I typically do in SL.

inV: We understand that your new Friday show will be a live simulcast at iDanceRadio.fm and also in world at The Pavilion Nightclub in Second Life. Is this your first simulcast of this nature that you have done before and what prompted the idea of a jointly broadcasted simulcast?

Wesley Spengler: It's a new thing for me. iDanceRadio.fm is sponsored by indie dance label CAPP Records (although the station plays great music from all labels, of course); they also sponsor The Pavilion in Second Life; and of course, I still DJ in SL too. So it really just all fit together in a pretty obvious way. Dom Toulon, who's the CEO at CAPP, is really big on experimenting with and leveraging technology, so this really is an extension of that.
One Cool Cat: DJ Wes

inV: You are undoubtedly one of the longest and well respected veteran DJ's broadcasting in Second Life. Unlike many DJ's who broadcast in SL, you have a vast amount of RL DJ experience. Do you think DJ's in Second Life who have had prior RL DJing experience gives an added advantage to succeeding as a DJ in Second Life?

Wesley Spengler: While it worked in reverse for me (I DJ'ed in SL before moving it to RL), I think being a RL DJ does give someone an edge in terms of technique. That being said, most RL DJs I know are not comfortable speaking on-mic. What I (and many others) do in SL is sort of a unique combination of radio style DJ'ing and club style DJ'ing that not everyone is comfortable with -- not that there's anything wrong with doing one or the other in SL, either. Above all, DJ'ing is really about entertaining people and having fun, and in SL, that can be accomplished a number of different ways.

inV: Finally, we've learned that you've recently completed your first commercial remix project. Can you tell us a little more about this and do you have any other exciting projects lined up that we can look forward to?

Wesley Spengler: Word gets around, huh? ;-) Yes, I just finished a remix for Worldwide Groove Corporation, a chill act out of Nashville, Tennessee. Remixing a very jazzy chill track was a bigger challenge than I expected, but I am pleased with what turned-out to be an ambient-style result. The song, "You Still Give Me Butterflies," is getting several different remix treatments, and will be released on iTunes and Amazon.com in the next month or two. In terms of new projects, I am working unofficially on a new remix project, and I've got two of my own projects underway as well. I have no idea how quickly any of them will be done, but production has been a long-term goal, so you can expect to see more of these projects over time.

Island: the Driving Force

It seems that many are under the impression that Animations Rising is all Miro Collas. Nothing could be further from the truth. When I first set up shop, it was a little hole in the wall place selling art and a small selection of animations. Were it not for Island Projects, that is where the business would still be.

When Island joined me in the business, his first major act was to get it located somewhere decent, make it a real store, and he went to work HARD in promoting it. And behind the scenes, his constant feedback, suggestions for improvement of existing products, and ideas for new ones, drove the business onward, made it grow. (Back then, we were known as "The Penguin Bar Animations".)

We grew larger, outgrew the parcel we had bought, so Island took us further, with the acquisition of the SIM we are located in now, Animations Rising. All the while, working tirelessly on many fronts to get our products and our name out into SL.

And while doing all of this, he continued to provide invaluable ideas into new product lines, taking a core idea and making into something that would amaze. Living Light is a prime example of what Island contributed: the many suggestions he made regarding design and function led to the products we sell now - which amazed both of us with their success. :-)

Island is a great artist in his own right. But in our business, he has instead chosen to use his business acumen to advance the company - at least in public. But as mentioned, behind the scenes, his creative contribution is substantial and vital. He has chosen to allow me, Miro, an outlet for my creativity, sacrificing himself in the process.

The names on vendors or on the items themselves are NOT a true indication of the creative mind behind them. Animations Rising is a team of two people. We both contribute to the business, in our own ways, be it working separately, or in collaboration. The business would not exist without both of us. Though frankly, Island could probably take ANY business and make it into something huge - if he wanted to.

Many business partnerships emerge in SL, but most of those die quickly, as internal squabbles tear them apart. Some clubs are a prime example of personal bickering destroying a business. Animations Rising was born officially almost a year ago, on February 8. And it has survived a long time, in SL terms, thanks largely to our shared values: honesty, trust, loyalty. Island embodies these words, he would never betray some one's trust, regardless. He makes enemies because he will not tolerate BS from anyone, and people don't like being called out when they lie or distort the truth.

Some who read this may say that I am biased. Yes, maybe I am. I am "married" to him now. :-) But it was the values I described above that led me to want to commit myself to being with him. Those, and many personal aspects which I will keep for myself.

In summary: a business of any significant size if often not the work of one person, but of two or more. But thanks to the way SL works, usually only one is known, when instead credit goes to a team. Animations Rising is two people, Island Projects and Miro Collas. And Island has done and sacrificed so much more than anyone can begin to imagine, to make us what we are. And he has done this selflessly, with intense dedication, passion and yes, love.

Island, you have not just my love, but my deepest respect. You are a true man of honor, and any who think otherwise simply do not know you, and/or misjudge you. Animations Rising owes its existence to you, in every sense.

Costa Rica had at one time 69 sims according to Ceo Mr. Tacky in his profile this past Dec. Well recently he updated his profile to 50 sims. To be fair it is understandable with the open space sim tier hike. Hmmm but I mapped Costa Rica tonight and I counted mid 40's. I think you need to update again Mr Tacky and maybe get a lesson in basic math. I laughed because it reminded me of Baskin Robbins I visted oncehttp://www.baskinrobbins.com/IceCream/who claim they have 31 flavors of ice cream and if you count them there is really only 19.
